About PERC
About PERC The Property and Environment Research Center (PERC) is the national leader in market solutions for conservation. Founded in 1980, PERC is nonprofit, nonpartisan, and proudly based in Bozeman, Montana.
About the Role
About the Role PERC is seeking a driven Digital Marketing Specialist to help build the audience for innovative conservation ideas. We're the national leader in market solutions for conservation and we're building a digital growth engine to match that ambition. This role is at the center of it.
You’ll manage paid digital campaigns, grow our email subscriber base, support our social media channels, and keep our WordPress-based website humming. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership, working with a small, high‑performing marketing/comms team.
This is a broad digital marketing role for someone with 2–4 years of experience who is ready to own real work across multiple channels. You’ll report to the VP of Marketing & Communications and collaborate closely with our Senior Designer and Digital Content Producer. We’re expanding digital marketing into a core function and looking for someone to bring focus, drive, and a growth mindset to the work.
Core Responsibilities
Paid Digital Advertising (35%)
Plan, launch, and optimize paid campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google Ads to grow our email subscriber base and drive traffic to priority content
Monitor campaign performance daily and make data‑driven adjustments to improve results
Report on key metrics—cost per acquisition, ROAS, conversion rates—and translate findings into clear recommendations
Coordinate with our Senior Designer on ad creative and landing page assets
Website Management (25%)
Handle day‑to‑day content publishing and updates on PERC.org (WordPress Gutenberg)
Support an active homepage refresh and ongoing site updates—ensuring content stays current, accurate, and on‑brand across the site
Coordinate with our external web development firm on technical maintenance and larger build projects
Ensure landing pages, campaign pages, and evergreen content are functioning correctly and performing well
Support conversion optimization efforts, including basic A/B testing and performance tracking
Email Marketing (20%)
Own list growth strategy in partnership with the VP of Marketing & Communications, with ambitious targets for subscriber growth
Manage campaign deployment in Mailchimp, including segmentation, scheduling, and A/B testing
Monitor open rates, click rates, and unsubscribe rates; identify trends and recommend improvements
Maintain list hygiene and help develop audience segments that improve relevance and retention
Social Media Support (10%)
Track and report on organic and paid performance across key KPIs—reach, engagement, follower growth, click‑through—and translate findings into clear insights for the team
Support paid social promotion of priority content and campaigns
Assist with scheduling and publishing content across Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and Facebook
Analytics and Reporting (10%)
Maintain dashboards in Google Analytics (GA4) and platform‑native tools to track performance across channels
Produce regular reports on growth metrics, campaign results, and audience trends
Help establish baseline metrics and targets as we build our digital measurement framework
Your Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in digital marketing, with demonstrated hands‑on work in paid social and paid search
Working knowledge of Meta Ads Manager and/or Google Ads
Experience with an email marketing platform (Mailchimp preferred)

Familiarity with Google Analytics or similar web analytics tools
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball
Clear written communicator; you can explain what the data says and why it matters
Preferred
Experience running paid campaigns for a nonprofit, media organization, or mission‑driven brand
A genuine eye for design. You may not be a designer, but you can tell when a landing page works and when it doesn’t, and you’re curious enough to understand why. You think about hierarchy, clarity, and visual flow, not just copy and conversion rates

Energized by growth metrics and the discipline of improving them over time
Self‑directed and high agency; when you hit a wall, you find a way through it by being resourceful or teaching yourself something new
